Acts of 1845 Chapter 179: Incorporation of Ohabei Shalom

This Article of Incorporation incorporated Ohabei Shalom as the first Jewish synagogue in Massachusetts in 1845. In his original petition, Moses Ehrlich, the first President of the congregation, wanted the congregation to be called Oheb Shalom. It is one of the oldest documents in Massachusetts that references Jewish life.
